1. On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the Republic of Korea (ROK), the United States and Japan held their second "Indo-Pacific Dialogue" in Tokyo, Japan.

2. The three countries acknowledged the need to explore ways to collectively contribute to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, considering its strategic importance and economic dynamism. In this regard, they discussed ways for cooperation to strengthen stability in the region, such as enhancing maritime security capabilities and countering foreign information manipulation. Additionally, they covered the ROK's chairmanship of APEC in 2025 and ways for economic and development-related collaboration including development assistance for ASEAN and Pacific island countries.

3. As they did in their first Indo-Pacific Dialogue held in January this year, the three countries reaffirmed in the second round their shared understanding on the need for a coordinated approach for peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

4. Eui-hae Cecilia Chung, Special Representative for Indo-Pacific and head of the delegation of the ROK, emphasized that the ROK, the United States and Japan should continue steadfastly to work together in addressing issues in the Indo-Pacific, encompassing those concerning traditional, emerging and economic security.
